What is EntrepBuff.com?
EntrepBuff.com was founded by a group of friends from Ateneo de Manila University, namely Ken, Tsoi, VJ and JD, back in December of 2006. During those times, most of the boys were already feeling fatigued with their career choices, knowing that something "more" was out there. Thus the group informally met almost weekly talking about dreams, gadgets, and the coolest of innovations they've been reading and hearing about. Then an epiphany came, for the group to share experiences, ideas, inspiration and the needed characteristics to be able to encourage the youth to pursue one's passion and make a profitable career out of it. With the addition of two other very talented dudes, Nate (from Ateneo as well) Diwa (from UP), in mid-2007, the group set out to pursue promising endeavors in organizing events - several financial literacy and entrepreneurial discussions - and building up an online community through EntrepBuff.com, "the web channel for the passionate next-gen entrepreneur".

Who are the monkies responsible for this madness?!

Ken Tan
Chief Executive and Innovative Marketing Buff
Ken has always been teased as the “lolo”, that’s “grandpa” for Filipino. Ever since elementary, he’s been always thought of as an old fart, and true to the name, he has keen interests in Philosophy, design, the arts, politics and the economy. After leaving college, he became a sales associate in an IT firm and realized a few months later that the “road frequently traveled” was not for him. He then worked in a local academic institution under the Jesuits, and is currently striving to reach “self-actualization” through entrepreneurship.
He has a cat named “Tisoy”. Loves Warcraft. Practices Krav Maga. Loves walking and traveling with clean public transportation.

Alvin Tsoi
Head Buff of Sales
Some call him Alvin, some call him Tsoi, creative noh? Anyway, Tsoi is currently the COO - a.k.a. Child Of Owner - and sales manager of their family business. As always been his nature, you can say that entrepreneurship is in his blood. Back in Ateneo de Manila University where he got his degree in Management Information Systems, he ran a small alcoholic beverage business. In this business, their family driver became his only "employee", acting as the agent selling to other drivers in the campus.
He now has several start-up venture experience within the technology and advertising space. Some of them succeeded while some he charges to "experience". He is currently taking up his masteral degree in Ateneo Graduate School of Business.

Diwa del Mundo
Chief Technology Buff
Diwa del Mundo is the chief "geek" of the group. Which is reflected on the company he put up, Hypermedia Soft, a company that provides Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) business applications and Free and Open Source (FOSS) systems consultation - *dumugo ilong namin dito.
He’s a staunch advocate of Open Source software, having more than a decade of experience in Linux. He studied Computer Science at the University of the Philippines in Diliman. He was the founding president of the UP Linux Users’ Group, an organization that promotes the use of FOSS among students. Among his key projects there is the Halalan Open Source Voting System. He’s now bringing his advocacy to businesses by helping them lower their IT costs and operate efficiently by using FOSS systems. He’s also currently the Vice-President of the Business Network International (Ortigas Chapter), an entrepreneur networking group. He’s also maintaining the Philippine Ruby Users Group website rubyphil.com.

VJ Sianghio
Head Buff of Production
Victorino Sianghio III, VJ to his friends, is a simple and down to earth guy. He is someone that can easily adjust to any situation put in front of him. Having been active in numerous organizations since high school, he ended up being the President of Kaingin in college, a socially-oriented organization in the Ateneo De Manila University which tutors public school children.
After college, he - like Tsoi - was asked to join the family business, working as its COO (again Child Of Owner) and as the Marketing Manager of Keyser Inc., the exclusive distributor of Fujifilm in the Philippines. With VJ's help, their family has also ventured with an American health and wellness company that distributes revolutionary patches for ones ailments. Other than their family business and EntrepBuff, he is also venturing into the business process outsourcing market. Miraculously, this guy can juggle all these activities and still have time to go out of town during the weekends. As the saying goes, work hard, party harder with lots of beer.

Jonathan "JD" Uy
Chief Community Buff
From taking up Management Engineering, becoming President of the student body of the Ateneo Placement Office, Vice President for Finance in the Management Engineering Association, Team Captain of the Badminton Varsity Team and consistently attending prayer sessions in the Ateneo Christian Life community back in college, to say that JD is a workaholic is a gross understatement.
After graduating from college, JD was soon recruited into the Management Trainee program of Unilever Philippines where he learned the ropes of working in a multinational company. However after over a year of employment, JD decided it would be better to help in the family business, where he is currently the Production & Operations manager.
With a natural knack for analysis & finding ways to be more effective and efficient, JD continues to provide ideas & innovations not only to his family business, but also to his other business ventures.
But despite having such a hectic schedule and enduring many sleepless nights, JD is still a kid at heart, enjoying the simple pleasures of life – playing the guitar, photography, movies, partying, anime, and DOTA. And yes, he is officially an Apple fan.
Lastly, as you can see, JD is also the only "tisoy" looking dude on the team.

Nate Dy-Liacco
Head Buff of Market Research and Content Creation
Si Nate, magaling mag-Ingles. Quoted from the bio we asked from him:
After graduating cum laude with a degree in BS Communications Technology Management and a Minor in Chinese Studies from the Ateneo De Manila University (ADMU), Nate was hired as an Account Management Trainee by the prestigious and locally and internationally-awarded advertising agency TBWA\Santiago Mangada Puno.
Starting out meek, unassuming and wet behind the ears, he learned the ropes quick and well enough, that in just two years, the firm decided to elevate him to Account Supervisor In-Training, allowing him to supervise blue-chip accounts – among them Globe, adidas, Shangri-La Hotels, Alaska Milk and SuperFerry.
He brings his real-world experience in advertising and marketing communications to his other endeavors. He is a part-owner and chief marketing officer of three entrepreneurial organizations that he has jointly put up with his childhood and high school friends from Xavier Greenhills, and has recently returned to ADMU to join the faculty of his home college, the John Gokongwei School of Management, as a part-time lecturer of Marketing 101, Principles of Marketing.
For a guy whose Chinese name literally translates to “astronomy”, you might just have to look up to the skies to find his next destination. If he gets tired of doing advertising and marketing work, he just might decide to apply to NASA, to try to fulfill his childhood dream of becoming the first Chinese-Filipino in outer space.
'Nuff said.
