WBW 7: Successful People Work VERY HARD

Submitted by Ken
Under topics: video, hard work

Successful people work hard. Aaron Co, a childhood friend of the Buffs, a gym-aholic, proud new father, and rising young entrepreneur gives a short, honest and down-to-earth talk about this truth. He not only discusses his own work ethic, but also talks about the potency of showing a good example as the "boss" – in that other people at work will imbibe this hardworking attitude they see in their employers.

Light is integral to human life. In ancient times, all our ancestors had to rely on was the sun, to get things done during the daytime. Once it sets, productivity ends, socializing stops. But mankind will not be a slave to how astronomy and creation have ordained things. And so he discovered fire, and after thousands of years, electricity, to ensure that even though the sun has set, the world will still be illuminated, and life needn’t come to a standstill. See how the power of both light and the entrepreneurial spirit come alive in Harry Hawson and his firm, Maverick By Design, in this part 2 of 2 special.

JCI Entrep Summit 2009 partnered with EntrepBuff.com image

A few weeks back, I bumped against an old friend I haven't been able to talk to for years. And as any coincidental encounters, you begin with small talk. After all the social exchanges have been made, we eventually got to the good part, talking about our current passions. And as my friends know me, I almost always have to talk about doing what I love of which includes EntrepBuff.com. Surprisingly, we shared similar philosophies, especially that of sharing entrepreneurship as a means for self-actualization and national formation. As I was a part of our small Buff team, so was he with the Manila Jaycees - an organization of Young Leaders and Entrepreneurs that caters to 18-40 year-old young men who want to develop their skills in business, networking, personality and fellowship. So naturally, we had to do something together. And as such, our first collaboration: JCI Manila's Entrep Summit 2009 - Inspiring Tomorrow's Leaders: ideas and stories from business people who are ahead of their time.

It is common to find a Filipino complaining about a problem repeatedly, but NOT doing anything about it because they believe that the system will never change. Given such a negative and pessimistic atmosphere, it would be close to impossible to achieve anything with such a select people doing all the acting and pushing. In this episode, Jose "Joey" Concepcion III is trying to change this atmosphere in his own way – through GoNegosyo, with the purpose of inspiring the Filipino people, the youth in particular, to change this atmosphere, to one of a business or negosyo climate – one that believes in optimism and possibilities.
